In 2022 I switched from Shady Grove (who seem to only care about getting money) to CCRM. Before CCRM expanded and got more staff on board the response time to reach someone when calling or getting a returned call was delayed but seems have gotten better. The only negative part of my experience with CCRM has been with the finance department but my provider Dr. Carpinello and my initial care coordinator Julia have been amazing! and the only reason why I have remained at CCRM.
I had a doctor referral to visit Dr. Olivia Carpinello at CCRM DC office this year. I have to say that I didnt know what to expect initially but the overall experience was pleasant. Dr. Carpinello and her team from the nurse, lab assistants, to surgery day nurse were very professional and kind. The blood drawing technician was so quick and accurate, and it made the multiple drawings in such a short period less intimidating. The surgery room was clean, and the bed was warm. I felt I was being taken care of. The initial consultation to the first baseline checkup did take a little while, but I understand that they cannot schedule me right away as there might be many people ahead of me, just like most other clinics. As long as I was on board, the communication has been very responsive. I also want to thank their financial team who went through everything I need to know with my insurance before I decided to proceed. I had several unpleasant surprises from my medical bills elsewhere, so I was very cautious after. But the specialist patiently answered my questions. Overall, I felt lucky to work with Dr. Carpinello’ team (apparently my friend who visited CCRM SF didn’t have as much luck). I think if you are a patient seeking for help in such an expensive process, you should be always on top of your own matter as you know yourself better. Be more proactive and less entitled as you are 100% to yourself, but to the provide, you are one of many the provider they are working with. They will do their best to help you.
Raven is an absolute magician with that needle. I’ve had my good share of blood tests over the years. She’s by far the best!
My experience with CCRM clinic has been marked by persistent communication issues that are particularly frustrating given the emotional nature of IVF treatments. The difficulty in reaching my nurse, receiving incomplete information, and encountering delays in responses have added undue stress to an already sensitive process. While I understand the demands on healthcare professionals, especially in private practices, investing over 20k in treatments heightens the expectation for seamless communication. Enhancements in staffing or training would significantly contribute to a more satisfactory patient experience in such a financially significant endeavor.
We had a wonderful informative initial visit with Dr. Carpinello. We look forward to the next steps of the process.
I visited the downtown D.C. office for monitoring during IVF stims. The front desk staff was extremely kind, and the patient care was wonderful.
