Dr. Chi is one of the best doctors Ive ever visited. She genuinely cares about my health, has helped guide me through different medications and procedures, and overall is just an excellent doctor. Ive barely had a wait while visiting the office, they quickly handle any questions or concerns I have via the chat. 10/10 experience.

Lake Shore OB came highly recommended to me from a nurse. I went into the phone call knowing that this is Chicago, and an appointment at this location, northwestern, etc, is hard to come by…but wow, I did not expect the woman at the front desk to be so cold and so rude. I don’t care if you have to say you are booked through February 100 times a day, you work at a healthcare facility with people calling that may be stressed or concerned about their health or people excited to book their first appointment when they are a couple weeks pregnant, this is no way to be acting when you are the first face a customer interacts with. Do better.

The women at the front desk are exceptionally rude. I was waitlisted for an appointment and when booking the woman was certain there would be an opening from a cancellation or reschedule and so recommended I take the first available appointment despite being unavailable. The time came for me to have to reschedule, which is fine if truly nothing has come available in 6 months. When I called, the woman at the front desk was very rude, interrupted me while I was asking to reschedule my appointment and then hung up. Would not recommend this practice because when you are dealing with pregnancy and complications, the last thing you want is to deal with an abrasive and difficult front desk staff in a stressful moment.

Made an appointment back in June but they only had Oct 1 as earliest. They called two weeks before saying they had to reschedule me to a later date and earliest would be Dec 1. I said I had been waiting for an appointment for months and the response was youre not the only one looking for an appointment. The lack of empathy is extremely jarring and disappointing. For a woman trying to understand the needs as a future mother and being pushed to the side and feeling like just a number makes me emotional. Quite disappointing.

I have been with this practice since 2015 and had three deliveries and four pregnancies. Dr. Gupta and Dr. Bolger are my absolute favorites as they are very experienced and always worked with me to respect my choices, while keeping my babies safe! I narrowly avoided a c section with my first thanks to the skill of Dr. Gupta who went above and beyond when I suddenly became medically complex. The NP’s Betsy and Jenna in this practice are also amazing, I worked with them a lot during my complex miscarriage and they were wonderful. The rest of the group has changed over the years and some doctors I liked better than others, but that is to be expected in a large practice with varying degrees of experience. My biggest issue has been the front office staff, although there gave been some improvements over the years, it still remains a big area of opportunity. It saddens me to think that patients might be deterred from this great practice because of the front office staff.

I have been a patient of Lake Shore Obstetrics and Gynecology for well over twenty years and the practice has been wonderful. I am sorry to say that I had a very disappointing and frustrating experience with Dr. Chi. It’s the Thanksgiving holiday weekend and I have a painful urinary tract infection. My regular gynecologist was unavailable so I was given a 10:30am appointment with Dr. Chi. At around 9:00am, I called the office to explain that in addition to the UTI, I had food poisoning and could not do a 10:30am office visit. I asked to do a 10:30 am teleheath call instead. The front desk said they would get a note to Dr. Chi. I waited by the phone until Noon for a 10:30am call that did not come. I finally went back to bed. Dr. Chi finally called at 2:30pm…FOUR hours after our scheduled time. She hung up just as I got to the phone. I immediately called back and got a message that the office was closed. It was a most aggravating day and I got no help.I understand that doctors are busy seeing patients during the day, BUT the 10:30am time slot had already been reserved for me. I don’t understand why Dr. Chi couldn’t cal reasonably close to my 10:30 am time slot. Very inconsiderate and not a doctor that I can recommend. Sorry to have to give a bad review for a doctor in the Lakeshore practice which otherwise has wonderful providers.

I have absolutely loved everyone I have come into contact with at Lake Shore OBGYN! I chose to switch to them for my pregnancy care and every doctor Ive met with has been extremely nice and thorough, patiently sifting through all of my questions. All of my appointments have been fairly quick with minimal waiting, and they allowed my husband to be present for all of them, which was extremely important to me. Cannot recommend this group enough!

I have really struggled whether to write this review or not, but I think all expectant mothers deserve to know my experience if they are considering Lakeshore. My primary doctor here was great, I loved her, but with the practice you may not have your primary when you deliver. When I was admitted another doctor was on call. I was scheduled for an induction, but I had begun labor the night before. When I showed up, the doctor on call wanted to begin the induction process without even seeing me. She actually called me on her way home to explain why she was starting Pitocin - implying I had no choice, no say in my treatment. The other doctor would not be to the hospital for an hour plus, and she wanted to start me on Pitocin (which can potentially have adverse affects on me, and the baby). She was telling me this on the phone, so my husband could not even hear what she was even saying (she called on the hospital phone, which did not have a speaker option. I cannot believe how unprofessional this was, and frankly I feel she put me, and my baby at risk. It doesn’t actually matter who this was….because it is just the luck of the draw who you end up with.Ultimately I advocated for myself and held firm that I wanted to see a doctor before starting Pitocin. She did not end up delivering my baby, another doctor from the practice did. They were great, but the heart rate of my baby was dropping during contractions…I shutter to think if I had allowed her to start Pitocin while she was on her way home and my baby was in distress. I personally would stay away from this practice if you are pregnant, as you cannot trust all the doctors there.

I have mixed feelings about this office. They have some great doctors but the office is constantly changing appt times once they’ve been scheduled. The worst was having my ultrasound completely canceled. I had to call back for clarification and then also leave a message directly for the doctor to see what the heck was going on with my ultrasound appointment. The scheduler/support staff I don’t even know who called from the lakeshore obstetrics office to inform me that they had no technician on duty but she was rude had a rushed/pressured tone in her voice (as if she had many calls to make and just had a minute for me). She told me I would have to wait another 30 days before I got my ultrasound done and that she had already run it by the doctor who ok’d it. Unbelievable! that they inform me 3 days before my scheduled visit with no other options to offer me for another appt. My last ultrasound was 3 months prior and now they want me to wait 4 months 😱. I looked into moving to another office completely but they were booked and I’m 32 weeks already. This office is not very stable with their appointments. So just something to consider when choosing your doctors office. I finally got a call back from the doctor who explained what was going on with the scheduling and apologized for the communication from the office staff. Appointments being rescheduled is just not something you want to have to worry about when your pregnant. It’s the worst feeling! I wouldn’t recommend this place to my friends.

This place is absolutely amazing! I have no idea why it doesn’t have five stars. I went here all throughout my first pregnancy. I never waited more than five-ten minutes in the waiting room here but usually it was less than five- even when I had back to back doctor and ultrasound appts. This place runs like clockwork. Doctors are on call all the time-you can always reach someone. They are connected to northwestern prentice hospital so one of the doctors you are familiar with will deliver your baby-it’s so seamless.

What a fantastic practice! They were incredibly accommodating to my needs as a referred patient. Were able to get me in within a timely manner.I was so touched at how kind and empathetic the ultrasound tech was towards me. The nurses were sharp and efficient. Jennifer the NP was one of the most fabulous providers I have ever had. She took her time to address every concern and explain in full detail so I could make my healthcare decisions.Dr Drake was warm and clinically astute. I could not have been given better treatment. Very happy to have found a practice to care for my OB/GYN health needs in Chicago. Than you!

I wasn’t a fan of this practice. They medically gaslight you into inductions that end up in csections. No surprise since Northwestern is a baby factory. I rotated through all of the doctors and Dr. Bolger was the best.

Most unprofessional office I’ve ever seen! I changed to them from another health care provider and brought my medical records and asked them to give them to me again. It was about 300 pages and they took out what they needed and shredded the rest that cost me over $100!! I mean asking the patient first would really not have hurt.Second, they are not flexible about their birth option. They don’t support VBACs and prefer only Csection! And they could tell me this after 1 month after I asked them twice. Instead of informing me from the beginning. Not recommended for pregnancy with special conditions.Changing to them was definitely a waste of time and a mistake.
