AFC Urgent Care SW Charlotte

This was some of the best care I have received in a long time! Both the office and medical staff were efficient and responsive, and helped me on the right path back to wellness. I couldnt recommend this location more and - though nobody wants to be back to the clinic - I will be going here whenever necessary!

I had by first visit to this Urgent care and was helped by the lovely receptionist at front desk, whose name I don’t know but she set the tone for the visit and was not only kind and helpful she is the first person everyone sees and interacts with and from my first encounter she was a number 12 out of a 10.So very professional yet compassionate, kind and helpful!!!!! Then Nick called me in the room for my visit and was also so relaxed, professional and did my intake for the PA and he also was exceptional! Then Olivia I saw for my infected foot and she also was professional, kind and listened to me! She gave me a prescription of sent it ahead to my pharmacy and was just as wonderful as all 3 of the fantastic crew you had working on the first Saturday of November 2024! Many Thanks to all 3 and I know where to go now that I experienced the patience, Care and professional touch of this fantastic Urgent Care experience for me! Many ThanksLisa

They were efficient and so professional. Kind and warm. I was out within an hour. And they listen to my concerns as a patient.

This was a perfect experience. Most urgent cares it’s like a waiting game and can be annoying. Not here. Reserved a time online, got there and was in within 15 mins. Everyone was so friendly and inviting. I was in and out in 45 mins it was perfect and clean

Visiting from out of town. Had sinus infection and fever. Felt absolutely horrible. I was so impressed with every step of the process. Online registration, taken back quickly and staff that knew I was sick and got me fixed up right so I didnt have to go again later. Saved our vacation. I felt sooo much better the next day.

Amazing! The provider Lejla was so kind and informative. She made me feel relaxed and she explained everything so well. Zoey, the Medical Assistant was very sweet and did a great job. Lastly, I had a question about my insurance for how much I had to pay and the medical assistant so patient explaining the process to me. She made it easy for me to understand and I appreciated that.The facility was very clean and nice.I was able to walk right in and be seen.

The visit wasn’t bad.. But it always seems every time the same physician sends a prescription it is never covered by the insurance.. I had a time going back and forth to the pharmacy! There was no sense of urgency to get the right prescription for us after diagnosing my son with pneumonia especially with him having sickle cell disease.. He finally sent the right prescription a DAY LATER!! Smh

AMAZING! Iam a US VETERAN. Upon entering I was professionally greeted, paper work was on a pad, which made the process painless. She did X-Ray, and tummy testing.The nurse was over the TOP caring and put my fears to ease.THANKS AFC.

Staff are friendly, professional, and visit was quick, even though I didn’t check in prior to arrival.

I dont give too many five stars but this is the facility to go to if you want very good urgent Care and customer service..😊

Great PA and staff are awesome.. very efficient and no wait like other facilities. I am so glad that I get help when in emergency sickness..The Manager OBien, is great and professional. He makes those emergency patients feel better before we are seen for the urgent walk in.. AFC Urgent Care is great.. Would recommend anyone who needs urgency help. Thumb up..!!!

I chose AFC because I have always received courteous and efficient care. I usually go to the one in Huntersville because it is close to my house. However, this location was on my way home from work and I was in quite a bit of pain (what we are thinking is an abscess in my jaw/mouth.) Long story short, after 3 visits in 2 weeks to try to figure out why I was in so much pain I was told that I would have to come in for a fourth time because the 2mg shot of Toradol was not helping. They cannot provide anything else for pain. I informed them that Toradol was not a pain medication, it was an anti-inflammatory. she said there is only so much they can prescribe. So I clarified that they cannot prescribe anything above Toradol so I shouldnt waste my money there anymore if Im in pain. She said that was incorrect, but they are not willing to help me unless I came in for a fourth time. I understand that most providers are hesitant to prescribe anything to make a patient comfortable. But given my 3 trips and the fact that I cannot get into a dentist until Jan 4th I thought maybe Id be offered anything.I would not recommend AFC urgent care for any illness or injury that requires the doctors to make the patient comfortable. It is now Christmas Eve and I was told to go to the ER if Im in pain. I wish I would have known that before I wasted my money here.I will not be returning.

This is by far one of the fastest urgent cares in Charlotte. The staff was pleasant and the PA was attentive to our needs. Highly recommended!

This place is amazing, the staff is very professional and very nice too including PA Stephen Reber who was very patient and explained everything to me and made sure I didnt have any more questions. I truly had an amazing experience even though I was not feeling well.

Excellent facility! Everyone from the front desk, nurse & doctor were excellent! I actually bypass other locations to go to this one. It is always CLEAN, the bedside manner is top-notch and the wait time is always minimal. Took my 4 yr old granddaughter for a school health assessment and the Dr and nurse were so great with her! Shes shy, but they had her smiling and interacting with them like shed known them for years. 5 *s on every level!

AFC Urgent Care met all my needs. All the staff were polite and most competent. The doctor I saw was kind, thorough, and knowledgable. Gold stars all around!

The staff is very friendly and they were quick after they saw me but it took 1 HOUR for me to get seen with only 2 other people in the waiting room ahead of me which ive never experienced at an AFC... Im guessing they were short staffed which is understandable but still, I didnt expect to be here as long as I was :(

I was feeling so terrible yesterday and im grateful i found this place.. from the young lady at the front desk that checked me in the receptionist to the nurse who did my vitals to the physician assistant all these ladies were pleasant and very nice and welcoming.and did it all in a timely manner.

Dr. Leija Majakovic is amazing. This is the second time I had to go urgent care and she took care of me both times. Her bedside manner, and her level of care is superb. She is truly a great asset to your facility.

Had a really great experience here. Went in after work around 5pm. There was a decent wait but I expect that at a walk in clinic. When I was seen the doctor was really attentive and didn’t rush at all. I felt like my concerns were heard and I walked out feeling like I had a great game plan for getting healthy.

Our visit was excellent. The staff was professional and courteous. We made the appointment and it was timely, clean and inviting. My wife was diagnosed and prescribed the proper medication for her ailment. Much better than a traditional medical facility. I would definitely recommend as a first option for initial triage and treatment.

This was hands down the BEST urgent care I have been to! After coming down with a case of pneumonia on a European vacation, I flew into CLT and came directly to an urgent care on Google and we found staff of friendly people who really listened, cared, and properly diagnosed me in less than an hour! We found a close pharmacy together so I could get my meds before we headed home to Myrtle the next day. Amazing staff and I’m so grateful for their care!

Greated warmly by Daniel who sent me the New Patient link via text. The questions were short and it was quick to complete.Vitals were quickly taken by Bianca with their new equipment.Dr. Gonzalez was quick to determine the cause and solution to my ailment.Rooms look great and clean. My room had enough space for three (You, parent, and Dr.)

I went to AFC for breathing issues and saw NP Layla, she was great!Even though they were not able to help me because I couldn’t use the medication they normally treat my issue with, she gave me a recommendation of an alternative treatment.She was so warm, gentle and attentive, didn’t rush me off at all. I highly recommend this facility and the reception ladies as well as the intake nurse were really good as well!!Thank you all for everything!

Women were wonderful. BUT to charge $119 to be seen and an extra $170 for a covid, flu and strep test is unimaginable. And I have insurance! After waiting an hour with no one else in line before me (sorry there was a lady but she gave up and left).

Excellent sevice and professional staff all around. I was on vacation from Ohio and my issue was resolved quickly. The woman P.A. was detailed and listened to my concerns. She was better than some doctors I have dealt with.

Brian the PA was excellent! He was caring and knowledgeable. Took the time to explain my condition in a way I could understand. Will definitely utilize this clinic again because of him!

My pain was not managed, and that’s why I went.To me, if you break a bone and are allergic to NSAIDs, some pain management is required, at least for 2-3 days.

Had to get a sport’s physical for my child. My visit was about 30 minutes(paperwork and physical included) as a walk-in The price of the physical was only $25 which is very affordable compared to other places I called. The staff was prompt and friendly. I also watched how they dealt with an elderly woman who was not tech savvy and they were extremely patient with her. Would recommend

Completely different experience than at the Monroe Location!!!! From the time we entered the door we were treated with the utmost respect and care!!! Mr. Kugler I appreciate you, sir and all of your staff at Tyvola!!! NP Lajla was awesome and so were the nurses and receptionist!! This place is a scam. The only good thing about this place is how quickly I was taken care of. Everything else was horrible. They say that you can see some certain kinds of specialists. What a crock. I went there instead of any other urgent care because their website you could see a dermatologist specialist. Not only did I not see a specialist, I didnt even see a doctor. The person who helped me was a physician assistant. He gave me completely wrong advice, according to my best friends brother who is a GP. He didnt even tell me to put ointment on the infected area and keep it covered. He prescribed 1 antibiotic instead of 2. He said that there was no puss coming out. A picture I took of it just before going there clearly looks like it was. So, just completely wrong. Then the price. Holy cow. They charged me just over $160 for this. A physician assistant instead of a specialist doctor. Crazy. Any other urgent care would have been $40-50 for this kind of visit. What a ripoff. Avoid this urgent care at all costs unless you want to be overcharged for incorrect advice and consultation.

It was by coincidence that I came across AFC Urgent Care/ Tyvola. The check-in process was easy and quick. The wait time was minimal. Each staff member that I had an interaction with were caring, friendly, professional and helpful. I truly felt that my concerns were being listened to and the correct efforts were being made to help me. I felt welcome from the beginning to the end. I didnt feel rushed or neglected. Also the entire office as far as I could see was very clean. A generous thank you to everyone at AFC Tyvola. I truly appreciate you all!

I came here because I was having stomach pain right below my sternum in my upper stomach that radiated into my back as it got worse over several days. I couldn’t eat or drink water at all without having severe pain that came in waves (not constant) and vomiting after anything.They pressed on my stomach and did a urine test. She asked if I had my appendix. Then told me it was the stomach bug (no bowel issues).Anyways, they called to follow up and I explained I was still experiencing the same symptoms.Long story short it was my gallbladder. I’m learning now that this is apparently obvious given my symptoms. They would have known this had they done further testing instead of brushing me off. It felt like they didn’t want to do the work lol I was the ONLY patient there and was still brushed off. It was a waste of my time, money and I spent more time sick for no reason

Thank you so much for that care that you showed to my baby, while she was sick. Our doctor was amazing, yet quick. Everyone from the desk to the back was friendly and helpful. I also have to add that I came in at 4:38 and they close at 5:00pm, so to get this kind of service and patience at the end of the day was impressive. Thanks again to your staff!

I went in earlier today for the first time at this urgent care. I expected a long wait time and a complicated process but instead I got the total opposite! It took 15 minutes from the moment I got there to the moment I was sitting down with the doctor. Everything was seamless, easy, and friendly. Stephen was awesome! Took my son right after I finished. Highly recommend.

The doctor and staff were very nice, but they refused to give me a receipt or detailed bill for my insurance. Just a simple office visit cost over $230 and there was no explanation of the charges.

Pittman was great and the office staff were friendly when spoken to. The office was empty when I arrived and there was still a small wait. The doctor and personnel all stayed busy helping me, walk ins, and phone calls to patients. I came in for a DOT physical, so I’m sure that was part of why I had to wait some. I would come back again.

I had a very bad experience at this place so Im only going to give a review based on my recent experience. I went in for an open cyst, and I was sent there from an urgent care. The open cyst was right where I sit so sitting was extremely uncomfortable. I was left in that waiting room for 7 hours before they brought me back to take some blood test and then they sent me back out to sit again. I ended up leaving. The nurses were very friendly but the people doing the intake were extremely rude, impatient, and very unhelpful.My wife, who speaks fluent Spanish, was trying to assist a distraught father who doesnt speak English to get infuriating about his daughter. She was berated for attempting to help this stranger instead of just saying thank you but we have our own protocols. Hes been waiting as long as we were abc they had no Spanish translators available? Yet when my wife stood up to help they got really snippy with her and told her to sit back down.Yeah, this place sucks. Its a beautiful ER though but if I ever need an emergency visit again Ill take the time to go into Charlotte instead of Pineville if I can.

I brought my daughter in and the visit was great. I was instantly greeted by the front desk Danielle. She was very helpful and efficient. The girl in the room Kaylen came in and made my daughter laugh and feel comfortable. The doctor was very gentle and we appreciated that so much. Great Job AFC. Had to stop by here on a business trip. Lady up front was plain rude! I have insurance through Aetna but was told i needed to pay upfront because they could not verify my insurance at the time. A day or two after my visit i get a call and I ask about my reimbursement and was told they will check into it and call me back. It’s going on a month and a half now, still waiting! Called Aetna and they say this AFC UC has not filed a claim with them for payment! These people are crooks and liars.

Hands down the best urgent care I’ve been to. From front desk to nurses to doctors- everyone is so kind and has the best bed side manner. I have terrible anxiety going to the doctors and they make me at ease. I saw Dr Pittman both times I went and he was so nice and answered all my questions. Thank you !!

Urgent care visits are usually a bad experience for me. This was the first time I was able to get seen quickly & go on with my day. I was there maybe 1 hr. Clean facility, good customer service.

I went to Urgent Care yesterday and was seen an it was a wonderful experience. I was treated with care and welcomed with gladness as any ill person should. Unfortunately in many places Urgent Care the service is neither urgent nor caring. I will return to this particular Urgent Care facility without hesitation. Refused emergency care due to JENNIE stating they can’t guarantee payment due to services requested . Called my insurance provider and they confirmed coverage and mentioned that to Jennie who later stated that means nothing. I asked to see this policy in writing but again JENNIE could not provide that information. This location wanted cash payment despite my full coverage insurance provider confirming my visit . Horrible customer service and I recommend getting an attorney involved with your visit here

Love this urgent care!! Great location for me, friendly staff, little to no wait time, doctor was great and the facility is SO clean. I took my son here for the first time this past Saturday bc he was complaining of a really sore, painful throat. Very friendly and efficient! The location was clean and no medicinal odor. The PA was friendly and knowledgeable. The wait was a bit long but that seems to be the case everywhere.

If you need to go to urgent care, do yourself a favor and come here! You can fill out your paperwork ahead of time which will save you time. I arrived around 10:10 and was out the door by 10:50. The front desk associate was friendly and helpful. My insurance provider portal was down and she let me know right away and we were able to use my log in to get what she needed. The medical assistant and doctor were also friendly and quick.However, I’m giving 3 stars because my pharmacy was having issues and I was not able to get my prescription. I called the urgent care and asked if they could call the pharmacy for me or assist me in any way because I was in a lot of pain and it was only getting worse. I explained I’d been trying to reach the pharmacy for hours and wanted to see if the doctor could get through. The associate who answered the phone told me to wait 20 more minutes and then she’d call. I emphasized that I had already waited 4 hours and 2 of those hours were at the pharmacy, to which she replied “I’ll call in 20 minutes.” She never called me back so I’m going to assume she didn’t call.

Pleasant experience that did the job needing to be done- in no time! In and out within an hour. The staff is kind, patient but efficient, and knowledgeable. Definitely a worthy urgent care. Everyone said I hope you feel better as I was leaving, which was sweet. Thank you!

Pleasant surprise. Very friendly receptionist. Efficient enrollment. Seen right away. Check in nurse capably took my vital signs. She assured me that she would take my highly elevated blood pressure again after I rested up. I was worked up because of a mishap. The nurse practitioner professionally removed a foreign body(hearing tip from my hearing aid). I rested and the nurse said that my BP came down. The charge was very reasonable. I would visit them again if I ever needed them. Highly recommend American Family Care Urgent Care.I returned to the Hearing Clinic at COSTCO which was a blockaway. A hearing aid trainee tech had put on a wrong sized ear wax guard. Another knowledgeable tech put on the correct sizedear wax guard. I went home confident that it wouldnt happen again.Dr Gordon

Worst service ever !! Please go to other urgent care.. i went here on 01/21/2023 as i felt my urine was not normal and i specifically asked the doctor in urgent care to see for UTI and he did and he told i didn’t have anything and i am good to go .. but the next day 01/22/2023 i went to my primary as my issue didn’t resolve and i had a UTI with millions of colony to subsidize they have to give a antibiotics shot .and i called clinics for their wrong diagnosis and they told they will not bill me .. but i see that bill suddenly after july to till now after 1 year .

I know most people are leaving great reviews, but the experience for my fiancé and I was average at best. We went in for some labs and it took FOREVER - almost 2 hours just to do what could’ve been done in ~15 min. And it’s been almost a week and we still haven’t gotten our results (we were told it would take 2-3 days).The staff was nice and the place was clean but not really worth the trade off of how inefficient it was and how long everything has taken.

There was nothing urgent or caring about my visit. Realistically, these two things could have almost been excused had they at least been helpful and/or correct in their diagnosis and course of treatment, but, unfortunately, that was not the case either.Will not return and would urge others to try a different family of urgent cares in the area.

Was the first to walk in and they had me in and out in 28 minutes! The health provider even looked up a coupon for the drug they recommended me for the flu (which I tested positive for). Couldn’t have been cleaner, nicer, or quicker experience. Recommended it to a friend who was feeling sick before I even left the parking lot. Will be back if we need an urgent care!

Update: AFC Urgent Care admin team called me and confirmed this was a mistake at their end and the issue was resolved. They only charged $35 and refunded the rest. They were very thorough in their communication.I would not recommend this place to anyone. The staff is very good but the policy and process are the worst. They say that most insurances are accepted but they charge you upfront without charging the insurance company. My Copay is $35 but they charged me $150 upfront for urgent care. This is the first time ever I had to pay $150 upfront for urgent care. Other urgent cares are much better.

The medical professionals at this location are all so knowledgeable, welcoming and friendly. Everyone who serviced me did an excellent job.

American Family Care Urgent Care clinic is an awesome clinic. The online registration process is very user-friendly. Thr process allows you to avoid waiting to do it at the clinic. The front office staff and clinic staff were amazing. They were friendly and professional. The nurse practioner was caring and knowledgeable. It’s always a little nerve wrecking when you have to go anywhere for medical care. However, this wasn’t the case at AFC Urgent Care. A young woman named Danielle assisted us to have an X-ray taken. She was very reassuring that the process was safe and that there was no need to worry. Her naturally nurturing demeanor made us feel very comfortable and at ease. Before we knew it, we were done and on our way. I’ve been to plenty of medical facilities in my life and this one particularly stands out as such a positive experience. 11 out of 5 would recommend. People might actually look forward to going to appointments if there were more providers like Danielle (even with a fractured/broken bone =)

It is clean, the staff is friendly, the check in process is really easy. It was also a short wait at the time I was there.This is not 5 star because I was in immense pain when I went and had to call the place back to get even 800 mg ibuprofen ordered to cvs making it 2 trips to cvs. This solution wasn’t enough to dull the pain. While no longer in tears constantly I can only sleep with ice packs and lidocaine OTC. If you are in extreme pain go to the ER and wait 5 hrs it’s apparently worth the wait.

Thank you for getting me in and out quickly that means a lot when you are not feeling well . Then taken the time to call and check on me a couple days later to make sure I am doing well thats the kind of service that makes you awesome

I was in extreme pain but the staff managed to get a smile on my face. Everyone was incredible! I have never had any urgent care treat me like I was a priority until I came here! Hopefully I won’t have anymore injuries but if so I will come here! They deserve more than 5 stars! Just amazing!

It was convenient. I had a 10:30 am appointment and I was seen by 10:45 am & out the door by 11:10 or so. The staff was polite, conscious of cost/insurance coverage, etc. I ended up testing positive for COVID and they sent me out the back door to avoid contact with others. It felt a little weird, but I understood. I’d go back.

Basically received immediate attention and appropriate care for my issue. Thank you!

The lady who checked me in was so nice and it was a pleasure meeting her. I am sorry I didn’t get her name. The nurse and doctor were also very pleasant and took care of me promptly. It was a great experience and I would definitely recommend them.

Honestly the best urgent care I’ve ever been to. My wait time was short but there was only one other patient in the waiting room but the staff was ultra friendly and the facilities were so clean and everyone was professional and cheerful. They got me diagnosed quick and medicated and on my way to healing! Thank you!

Didnt think Id ever review an urgent care, but this urgent care is the best one Ive ever been to. Very fast and friendly. The NP who saw me, Tracy, was kind and quick to figure out what to do. I was in an out in less than 30 minutes. They also called the next day to see how I was doing and let me know to call back if anything got worse. Ill definitely be back when I need to go to urgent care again.

I had less than a 5 min wait and the doctor took her time to really listen and genuinely care for me as person under my condtion. I went to AFC Urgent Care as a walk in patient. My wait time was less than 15mins. Everyone was nice and professional.The nurse that assistant me was very knowledgeable in her profession.Once my Xrays were done, the NP explained everything and gave me understanding details how to treat my injury before leaving.I would recommend this Urgent Care

Went in a few weeks ago for urgent care. The receptionist, medical assistant and doctor provided empathy, care and excellent service. This made a profound impact on my life of which I am most appreciative. Highly recommended if needed.

Dont come if you are in pain. Checkin process is ridiculous. Had to complete several mandatory unnecessary steps like how did you hear about us (asked twice), scan insurance card then enter all the info manually anyways. Scan license front and back. 17 steps in all, each with several items to complete. All before you can get a spot in line.

When sick, speed in which a doctor or healthcare professional can see you is the most important factor. Walked right in with no appointment on a Monday afternoon and was seen, diagnosed, and given medicine all within 45 minutes.

I was the first to check in after they opened at 8 AM they did the paperwork by phone which was very simple very easy I signed the documents on the phone so it was a no contact check in. I actually love that. I went in because of a finger nail not healing because of fishing. Initially checking in, a doctor came and looked at my finger, before I even did the paperwork. After checking in I went immediately to the back once I push submit to the paperwork saw the doctor was diagnosed treated and was done within 30 minutes. Now I know every situation won’t be the same but there were other pros about this new location that I actually liked. The nurses wasn’t standing around talking for 20-30 minutes before they decided to bring you to the back to do vitals and do an exam plus when you go into each room sometime you can have those awkward moments where you’re sitting for 15-30 minutes until the doctor comes in to see you but each room has a TV and they have it on and it’s not about advertising it’s actually a TV show so even though I wasn’t there very long I found that being able to watch a TV show to take my mind off being there and if I did have a long wait it would not have been this utter silence that you get when you’re sitting there and it makes your anxiety rise in urgent care so that to me was a nice plus to this new location. Plus super nice staff. If ur accompanying Someone there there is a Starbucks plenty of places to eat. This location has only been open a month so drop in and check it out

I’m in Charlotte on vacation, and needed urgent care. I checked many urgent care facilities and there’s was at least a 2 hour wait. I found AFC urgent care online and was able to make an appt within 45 mins. They took great care of me, and Dr. Boetto was amazing. She was thorough, explained everything in ways I could understand, and set up a great treatment plan. I was very pleased with this facility.

Went in for DOT physical, it was quick, reasonably priced at $99, and staff was great!

Sliced my finger with a potato peeler, they were super nice and helpful. They got me in the back sure quick and bandaged me up great. The front desk lady helped make my insurance work which was awesome.

Our second time here and again it was super clean and all staff were super professional and very nice. Hopefully we wont have to come back but if the opportunity comes well choose them again!!!
