Lotus Gynecology Health and Wellness

Lotus is one of the best practice i have ever attended. Dr. Jahangir is exceptional, kind, patient, thorough, excellent. Nurse practitioner is the same. The office staff is delightful and efficient. Besides gynecology, I also started a medical procedure every three months that has been a life changer for my marriage intimacy since reaching menapose. It really works and should be front and center in the media for women. I want to spread the word. Five stars isnt enough.

I have a pelvic pain disorder, so pelvic exams have always been difficult. I also, historically, have had to repeat so much medical history every time I would see an OBGYN.It also would take forever to be seen, sometimes months to book an appointment. I waited a week, which is crazy to me.I had my first pelvic exam with Lotus today and it was the best experience I’ve had in over 15 years.Katherine remembered all of my information and history, from a year ago when I went to have my hormones checked. Which is a lot of information since I’ve been struggling with much condition since I was a teenager.She’s kind, gentle and very knowledgeable.Plus I had to get my blood drawn and I’m a tough stick. Average 2-3 times of poking or digging. Their phlebotomist is the best I’ve ever seen. First try and I barely felt anything.I’m really glad to have found Lotus Gynecology.

Dr. Jehangir and her staff are truly amazing! It is so hard to find a Dr that takes the time to listen to all of your concerns and is able to come up with solutions for treatment. I have spent years in pain and finally have relief that I am in good hands for my medical needs.

DR. SAIMA JEHANGIR was absolutely fantastic. My partner and I are terrified of doctors and had the best experience with the entire staff from beginning to end. Dr. Jehangir made us both feel at home, the office was similar to an upscale living space without the pretense, and we communicated on a level of friend first, Doctor second. We wont go anywhere else. Thank you!!!

I can’t say enough good things about Lotus Gynecology. Not only is the atmosphere clean, stylish, and calming but the staff and owner are awesome. Dr. Jehangir is non-judgmental, personable, knowledgeable and thorough. She makes my annual appointments easy and comfortable.

Everyone was super nice and knowledgeable! The NP (or maybe PA) who did the exam was very patient and listened to all of my concerns. I loved that she was accepting of my nutritional approach to balancing my hormones as well as understanding of my mixed experience with BC. The exam itself was comfortable and quick, and not as awkward as what Im used to.Definitely recommend this place! I would love it if they offered OB as well.

Pros: The office is nice, and the woman who does lab draws is awesome. Cons: They “couldn’t find” my ultrasound results and had two weeks to do so before my follow-up but didn’t bother. Then they failed to fill an important Rx that I was told by the doc would be filled. I called and asked the nurse practitioner to check on it the next day and she assured me she would call it in and that didn’t happen. I strongly suggest finding a more reliable practice. Far too stressful.

CAUTION TO GOING TO THIS PRACTICE.I visited Dr. Jehangir’s practice as a first time patient to do an annual exam. As part of the check-in paperwork there was a piece of paper asking if I was interested in additional testing. One of them was for candida overgrowth which I had interested in from a gut health perspective.I went back to the patient room and spoke with Dr. Jehangir she asked why I wanted the test and I explained. She informed me it was for vaginal candida and shared the symptoms … none of which I had so I let her know I did not need that test. Once we finished she said there was no need to check out and to just walk out. Weeks later I got a bill in the mail for almost $300 for testing which I found strange since my insurance covers annual visits fully.I called the Lotus Gynecology office and shared my information but there was a huge lack of follow-up. Finally I was connected to the office manager Karen and I shared with her the situation. Then we had a lot of back and forth interactions as I waited for her to get info from Dr. Jehangir. Karen lets me know that Dr. Jehangir felt that I needed that test and the best next step is to speak with her and that it would be at no charge.I have the conversation with Dr. Jehangir and right off the bat she tells me there is nothing they can do. I explain the situation once again and she says she has no recollection. We go back and forth and she tells me she will pay out of her pocket for the bill but I am not welcomed at her practice.“Basically the only way I can resolve this is I will pay your bill. But then you cannot be in our practice anymore.” “I will pay your $300 bill, but I will not be able to be your doctor anymore.” She also said this was “a very poor use of (her) time”. When in fact Karen her office manage is the one that presented talking to the Dr. Jehangir as the next step. I did not request the call. Dr. Jehangir also said that it is “obvious the the $300 is a burden to you.” Why yes Dr. Jehangir it is a burden when it is something we spoke about me not needing and you still charged me for anyways.We end the call and minutes later Karen calls me to say they will not be paying. At this point I am writing this in hopes it helps others avoid this practice. The reviews of their poor office management are correct ( I wish I would have looked at them prior). Dr. Jehangir as far as my office experience was nice. She should have someone with her when she is with a patient to take notes so that issues like this don’t happen. If I had ordered this test I would have no issues paying but I clearly told her that was not the test I was looking for and did not want to get tested for that.As a doctor who owns a practice having good customer experience is important and this was handled in a terrible manner.

I love Dr. Jehangir and her staff. I always feel welcomed at Lotus and well taken care of. In my experience, Dr. J looks at the patient as a whole person, something I truly value from a doctor. She has listened to concerns and is receptive. Also, she is a gifted and skilled surgeon . I have recommended her to all of my friends :)

Do NOT get established withDr. Jehangir and her PA!They are nice but DONT expect to get care in emergency.When she and her PA are on vacation, you will NOT have someone to take care of you. Lotus Gyn does NOT have other doctors to cover you. The emergency room is your only option.(If you arent an established patient, other doctors usually cant see you right away)I have been to Lotus 3 times with the same problem. I had to go to the emergency room one time due to the pain.Today, I woke up in pain. I called Lotus. Both Dr. Jehangir AND the PA are on vacation. There is NO ONE to help me. The person in the office said they CANT see me until next Monday. 7 days!Do NOT establish here.Im hurting, Dr. Jehangir and PA wont be back for a week! I cant go a week in pain!

Ive been going to Dr. J for a while. I had two surgeries performed by her and her husband (they work in the same office) and I could not say enough of how kind, and great doctors they have been to me. My two daughters have also visited Dr. J and had great experiences. She has a loving personality and is very approachable. I recommend her to everyone I know.

WARNING DO NOT GO TO THIS PRACTICE!!!I visited in March with concerns as I had been bleeding multiple times during my current cycle which was not consistent with my normal period.I went in, saw the NP, told her my symptoms and also told her I had been off birth control for about a year. She asked me if I could be pregnant and I told her in theory I guess, but because I am bleeding I assume I am not. She then proceeded to tell me that she was concerned about my fertility due to this irregular period, and because I had not gotten pregnant off birth control after a year, and said we should wait for my next period and then schedule an ultrasound to see why I wasnt getting pregant.Fast forward two weeks later, I threw up one night for several hours and my husband walked into our bathroom to find me unconcious. Turns out I was 2 months pregnant (had been 1.5 month pregnant at the appointment) with an ectopic pregnancy. My tube could not support, burst, and I had two liters of blood in my abdomen. I went into urgent care (at this point thinking it was food poisioning) and they discovered I was pregnant within minutes of being there.I had to have emergency surgery, lost my right tube, paid 8k in medical costs, and will have a 6 month recovery timeline before I can even think about trying to get pregnant again.EVERY SINGLE OBGYN I have talked to about this is SHOCKED this NP did not ask me to take a pregnancy test as all my symptoms aligned with an ectopic pregnancy. I saw a TIKTOK a month ago that even described these symptoms being in-line with ectopic.When I called Lotus to let them know what happened and to prevent it from happening again, they certainly didnt understand the gravity of the situation and got defensive saying the NP basically did nothing wrong.AUSTIN WOMEN PROTECT YOUR BODIES!!!!! I have found fantastic care at St. Davids Womens Health, they were the heros that did my surgery and saved my life. Go to them instead.

I have been with Dr. J for almost 10 years. I have followed wherever her practice has gone. She is the most real doctor you will come across, and gentle in her care and questioning. She is smart and witty, and makes your yearly, which lets be real is not much fun, enjoyable and like chatting with an old friend. I am done with having babies, but glad I have someone I can count on and enjoy seeing when I need her. :D

Dr. Jehangir is brilliant! She has a calming bedside manner. She takes the time and effort to get to know you, and always has the best medical advice. I recommend her to family and friends constantly. Dr. J truly cares about her patients. I will always be grateful to and for her.

I hesisated to negatively review the practice becuase I was highly encouraged to visit Dr. Jahangir by a dear friend and I had a previous office with Dr. Jehangir that was positive.However, after the bad experience and the insulting nature of DR. Jehangir with this experience I decided to move forward.I had an exam scheduled for an endometrail biopsy. I was nervous as the diagnosis I was given caused me anxiety and just being in the vulernable position of a papsmear, half naked and vulnerable is daunting anyway.The front office was nice and professional UNTIL while I was in my room, alone, undressed waist down as is protocol for a biopsy, a lady from the front office staff came into my room to tell me the cost to be paid up front for the procedure.I was confused and extremely uncomfortable. I have NEVER had a front office staff member in my room while alone and while undressed to talk about financials.Later, I called the office to request to talk about the incident and asked NOT to speak to the lady who visited my room. I did receive a call back from THE LADY WHO VISITED MY ROOM and at that point I was even more uncomfortable.We talked about it and she made excuses for why she went into my room, apologized, and this left me feeling like I was in the I was not heard nor validated.I was still uncomfortable with the incident and explained that I would talk to the Dr.I explained what happend to Dr. Jehangir and that only designated medical staff are allowed in patient rooms and her words were you shouldnt cause trouble for the people who are treating you.At this I was LIVID and taken aback. My reply was are you scolding me? I explained that this is non compliant and this incident should not have happened, I want to prevent it from happening to anyone else, and the way they handled it was inappropriate. I lost my cool and told her I was hanging up the phone and hung up on her.NO apology. NO effort to rectify the situation. Just me being left with what happened, insulted and humiliated.It is unfortunate the way I was treated by the Dr. and I hope that this serves as a glimmer of insight with retrospection to amend future encounters.

I consulted with Dr. Jehangir after I’d been told by a specialist that I needed surgery. I was terrified at the prospect, but she heard my concerns, explained everything clearly and elucidated my options. Most importantly, she was kind and relatable, respected my perspective and preferences, and performed the procedure perfectly! I’m almost fully recovered now and so grateful for the positive outcome. She is a truly competent, compassionate doctor and an excellent surgeon - and also a very nice person.

I have seen Dr. Jehangir for a few years now and she stays consistent to her great practice. My appointment started on-time (Oct 2017); I received excellent and thoughtful diagnosis and care (again); and never felt rushed even after having been there near half an hour. Of course I will continue to visit Lotus Gynecology. I always have great conversations with Dr. Jehangir and definitely appreciate her candor too!

The experience that I received was absolutely amazing. I have never felt so understood by anyone in my life, especially a physician. I walked into the office feeling nervous about what I was experiencing but I walked out with confidence that I had someone on my side that was going to do whatever she could to help me! I would recommend Dr J to anyone that is looking to be understood and talked to like a person rather than just another patient.

First time coming here for my annual check-up. Been using the same doctor in Dallas who delivered me so this was a huge step! Dr. Catherine could not have made this easier.. she is so friendly and informative! Nurses were great too. I am happy to have found them. Definitely reccomend this office!!

I have been visiting Lotus for about 6 years and have always loved Dr. J. Even since we moved to Johnson City, I have been driving the distance to see her, because shes worth the drive. I was very dissapointed to learn they no longer accept insurance. That is information that would have come in very handy, before I drove over an hour to come to my appointment. What a waste of my time, and gas, and such a lack of communication on their part.

I am just now getting to experience the wonderful care of this amazing staff. The office staff and nurses always greet you with kindness and a smile. I had recently moved to the area and struggled to find a good OBGYN. After a horrendous several months at another practice, we switched, and could not be happier! The moment we met Dr. Jehangir we knew we made the right choice. She listened to all our concerns, and made us feel so very comfortable. I am so disappointed that I did not find her sooner in my pregnancy, but I am definitely glad to be her patient now. I have no doubt that she is going to take 100% care of me and my baby when it comes time to deliver next month! We will absolutely recommend her to everyone, and definitely use her for the next baby when the time comes.

The way this woman treated my mom was atrocious, I would go with my mom to her appointments and I was baffled at her poor communication. She also goes on vacation A LOT without notifying her patients. Out of the 6 times we visited Dr. Jahangir, my mother saw her personally only 3 times.After being double billed and talked to like a dog, the straw broke and my mom changed drs. I hate seeing my mother upset when pregnant which is why I am leaving this review. Her experience was very similar to another review here. No insurance, cash pay, treated like crap.

The staff was very friendly and I was seen at my scheduled time, but after I met with Dr. Jehangir, I left feeling unheard and like my issues were dismissed. She told me that my problem could be coming from anything and brought up the fact that I was single and that my generation uses Tinder (a dating app) to casually hook up... This was offensive. When I asked what type of Eastern approach she took she did not give me a clear answer. This was one of the reasons I visited this clinic, since it states it on the website. When my results came back the receptionist was going to hang up without giving me the most important test result, so I had to ask about it. I was also told that my next step was to see a chiropractor. I could not believe there was nothing else she recommended I do other than that. Unfortunately, I was very unhappy with my visit at Lotus.

Yall, let me tell you something. If the world was ending and my life depended on my pap results, I would literally cross mountains and oceans to see Dr J as she is the only one I would trust with that visit lol. I wish I could tell you all the ways I am always treated like I matter, like I am valued as a patient, and like I am family. I have the special honor of having a cluster of rare disorders and diagnoses. I am the patient that several doctors have said they were intimidated by my chart and felt I needed to find a different doctor. Dr. J has stood by my side, as my care provider, and it makes me want to cry at how much this means to me. If you want an OB/GYN that is going to tell you what you want to hear vs what you need to hear to keep you healthy, find yourself a different Dr. I want someone who isnt afraid to tell me the good, the bad, and the ugly when it comes to my health. I want someone who will give smart recommendations even if its bold ones. Thank you Dr J for always being the voice of intelligence, of trust, and of everything in between. Dont ever change ❤

Dr. Jehangir is awesome. She is my first gynecologist and I feel comfortable asking her any questions. All the nurses and staff are great as well. Their online portal is convenient for looking at documents, contacting the office, and making payments.

Dr. J is great! She has been my dr for over 3 years. She always treats me with kindness and care. I can talk to her like a friend. I have followed her to her last 2 offices and Ill follow her to this new office as well.

All of the staff was warm and welcoming. I saw Catherine and enjoyed her energy and knowledge. I came to Lotus looking for a more natural way to treat an issue. She had lots of recommendations. I look forward to continuing to work with her and Dr. Jehangir in the future.

My experience started off great but slowly declined. I think the more patients Dr. J had, the less time she had for all of them. I called her with a concern on a mamo and left her a msg. When she called me back, she left a vm and didnt answer my question which meant that she didnt take the time to hear my concerns. Additionally she stopped taking insurance. I can only assume that her clientele is wealthy enough to afford her prices so she doesnt need to service patients with an income under $50K a yr. Also saw that they focus a ton on botox and spa services rather than medical issues. Very disappointed by the way it turned out. Shes a nice Dr, but I think she lost her focus putting wealth instead of health.

They were very supportive but not informative or helpful. I was having severe PMDD, so I called them for help. They put the ball in my court, but I didnt know how to fix it. Over the phone I asked if 5 days of Zoloft might help. No one called me back to advise me. Instead I received a text update from my pharmacist that my prescription was ready. I called back for advise, again did not receive a call back but got a text from my pharmacist for two more Zoloft pills. went to two other doctors that both told me 5 days of Zoloft would be ineffective. It was. I dont know why they prescribed me 7 days of Zoloft. I am not a doctor. I wanted help, not to diagnose and prescribe myself.

The staff and Dr. J are kind, friendly and efficent. It was nice to go to a Dr. and feel like a real person and not just another patient. She’s extremely down to earth and I will be recommending her to all my friends and family.

I see Catherine and I can honestly say she is my favorite doctor I have EVER seen! She goes beyond just being a doctor. She cares about her patients and and their wellbeing beyond just the female reproductive system. I feel genuinely grateful to have found a doctor as amazing as her. I reccomend her to any woman who wants a kind, compassionate, and thorough doctor.

I had a review some time ago about this horribly run office and even worse DR. It looks like this page was reset as there are no reviews. Since this women ruined my delivery I feel obligated to post again!1. I was overcharged by 800.00! I went in to make my final payment when I was told I had one more payment after that one. They hand wrote in a NEW payment onto my signed and legal contract AFTER we agreed to a cash payment plan. Claiming they made a mistake and it should have been that much. Sorry but not my fault, not what we agreed to, not to mention how against the law it is to change legal paperwork without consent. It was legal, end of story!2. DR. Jehangir FORGOT to tell me the day of my scheduled C-section. I went into the hospital for early labor pains a few days before. I asked her and the nursing staff about my appointment, she said she would make the appointment but the nursing staff said she never did. When my water broke a few days later and I was rushed to the hospital I was approached by the nurses asking me where I was. They told me I had a C-section scheduled THAT morning. After which she came and YELLED AT ME in front of the nursing staff as I lay with fluid pouring out of me in severe pain. She claimed her secretary left me a message on my voice mail, a message nobody actually left. (who leave those kinds of messages on voicemail anyway?). She made me such a nervous wreck with her yelling and arguing that the nurses had to ask her to leave AFTER I FIRED HER and after she raised my blood pressure to dangerous levels. The nurses then told me she was what was called a part time DR and that they had many complaints about her.3. She waited until I was 8 months along to check for diabetes. I had high blood pressure from day one at 6 weeks along. Most DRs check this as soon as there are signs of high blood pressure. When I had a hard time getting to an appointment because I was so sick she belittled me telling me I was going to kill my baby and it wouldnt be her fault. I didnt realize it then but was later told that if she did not check me by the time I gave birth and my baby was stillborn that she would be liable. She forgot to give me one and had to cover herself by doing it last minute.4. She took 4 vacations in the 9 months I was pregnant. This left me to have my appointments with her partner who charged me extra for every visit. Again, I was told by nurses at the hospital it was normal for her to take vacations often. I was cash pay and on a payment plan, this was TERRIBLY inconvenient.5. She never gave me one single sonogram picture of my baby. I had 2 sonograms in her office, all she did was tell me how she had no clue how to tell the sex of the baby. She could read the machine and that was it! What kind of DR admits that?6. Even after firing her and telling the hospital that I wanted to use the DR. on staff she still snuck in and operated on me without my consent. I fired her in front of 3 nurses and ordered the administrators of the hospital to not let her near me. I heard her as I was half unconscious explaining to a training person (who I also did not give permission to have in my room) about the procedure. I NEVER want to hear what is being pushed aside so they can make room for the baby. What woman wants to hear that?The only positive thing I have to say about this office is that the nurses were wonderful. Where the DR. lacked in caring they made up for. But I didnt pay 3 grand to have nice nurses, I paid to have a good DR. Dr. Jehangir ruined what should have been a truly blessed and wonderful day where I met my new baby. Instead I was depressed and angry! This women is a hack and I wouldnt recommend her to my worst enemy! She can keep sending that bill because I wont be paying it, she is lucky I didnt report her to the medical board.

First impression: I thought the front desk staff was slightly condescending on the phone. The woman snidely informed me they don’t take my insurance, as if I wasnt Good enough to go to their clinic. I informed her I was paying with cash and her attitude immediately changed.At the appointment: Let me be clear I chose To come to this clinic and pay out of pocket bc they advertise about being holistic. Wait, what? There’s none of that. Dr. J also informed me (a Chinese medicine student) that Chinese medicine “obviously doesn’t work.” Cool. So glad you speak your erroneous opinions to your paying clients. I was seen quickly and pushed out of the door. To be honest, I wont return.

My wifes happy with the care provided, but their back office is abysmal. She was made to pay an incorrect amount which the clinic later got from our insurance provider (Cigna) and weve been trying to get the money back for over two months. They dont pick up the phone and dont follow through on agreed call backs from personal visits. We never get a straight answer.UPDATE: this is going on for over 8 months now and we still don’t have our money back. AVOID THIS PLACE!

Staff is NOT customer focused. The doctor is all about pumping you up with drugs to make you look better (for your husband?) and Not to help you feel better. The office over charges for medical records. I would never go back there.

If you want to feel personally cared for this location is for you. Everyone was kind and caring. Beautiful and clean location. From beginning to end they took care of everything and communicated flawlessly with me. I will never go anywhere else! Catherine is amazing, book now!

I went here once for my annual, and Dr J didnt even do a breast exam (I realized this afterwards). Then they stopped taking insurance. It must be nice to have a large enough client base who can afford to pay out of pocket for doctor visits that dont include half of the services, but Im not in that class so I get to start the search for another gyno AGAIN.

I would let you know how the DR. was if the office had not rescheduled two appointments, one an hour before I was supposed to be there. I understand an emergency but at least one of these cancellations were because the Dr. was to go on vacation and my appointment was accidentally scheduled during that time frame. No thank you, I will seek OB care elsewhere.

LOVE LOVE LOVE Dr. Jehangir! Great doctor to go see. Been going to her and all locations she has in the Austin and surronding areas for about 6 years. Dr. Jehangir and her team are amazing. Love the online system they have to offer as well.

When I went here it was nice. The people were a little cold, but the main doc seemed nice enough. The biggest issue I have is the lack of response and customer service through the website or portal usage. I have been trying to book an appointment for over three months now requesting times on their portal and have received not one email or phone call or notification through the portal. I even included the fact that I was, and still am, in pain.

I absolutely love my gynecologist. Dr. Callahan is awesome. She makes the awkward experience so relaxing by being so personable and easy to talk to. Shes also real with you.

Dr J is amazing!! The organization of the office is a little disorganized, but as far as loving your doctor, she is the one! Makes me feel very comfortable.

I would never want to go anywhere else. I have never felt so comfortable in a medical setting. If I move I would fly back just for my yearly appointments!

Dr. Jehangir is fantastic! She is a listener and an educator. I also feel comfortable to share my own thoughts and/or theories of what may be as far as my body concerns i.e. great respect. I strangely look forward to my yearly exam! LOL Who woulda thought!

I had experienced pain and a low quality of life for years due to endometriosis, cysts and fibroids. She took care of me with a laparoscopic hysterectomy and it has made a world of difference. Great care every step of the way.

I do not recommend Lotus Gynecology. Even though the doctors are knowledgeable, everything is extremely unorganized. Last time I went there was over a year ago and I’m still having billing problems because their billing department forgets to take my payments and then calls saying my balance is higher than the original balance I was told before.

Amazing staff. I’ve been looking for a good dr since I moved to Austin. I’m so happy I finally found a place that I feel comfortable and heard. They really listened and my whole experience was very comfortable

It was very great and friendly. the ladies in the office are super nice and welcoming and the DR is fantastic! she was nice and friendly and answered my questions i had. i left feeling very satisfied! :)

I recommend Dr. J to everyone woman I know! No doctor has ever made me feel more comfortable, valued, and cared for. Cant speak any higher of this practice.

Dr J is amazing as a doctor and human being - I never feel like a specimen but a person. I dont want to go anywhere else for this care - not ever!
